We have held a “National Level Laboratory Management Training For Junior and Senior High School Teachers and Laboratory Assistants” on Saturday, December 1, 2012 which was presented by Dr. Yunita, M.Pd (Chemistry Lecturer at Islamic University Sunan Gunung Djati – Bandung).

41 participants from four provinces (West Java, Central Java, DKI Jakarta, and Nangroe Aceh Darussalam) attended the training session:

3. Bandung (SMAN 10 Bandung, Bandung Merdeka SMK, SMA Langlangbuana)
4. Bandung (SMKN 2 Baleendah)
5. Bekasi (SMKN 1 West Cikarang, SMAN 13 Bekasi, Bekasi SMKN 1)
6. Ciamis (SMAN 1 Cisaga, SMPN 1 Ciamis, junior Integrated Ar-Risala)
7. Cirebon (SMAN 9 Cirebon)
8. Tasikmalaya (SMPN 1 Rajapolah)
9. Majalengka (SMKN 1 Majalengka)
10. Jakarta (Jakarta High School Hang Tuah 1)
11. Sumedang (SMPN 1 Cimalaka, SMKN 1 Sumedang)
12. West Bandung (SMAN 1 Cikalong Wetan)
13. Pati (SMAN 3 Pati)
14. Langsa (RSMP BI Negeri 1 Kota Langsa)

In this session, participants were trained so that they will have high managerial skills in managing laboratory rooms in their schools. Topics that were discussed including laboratory room layout, bookkepping administration of laboratory equipments and materials, and the correct ways in using scientific laboratory equipments (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology).

Beside theories, participants were also given the chance to directly practice (hands-on experience) by doing laboratory experiments, such as: the use of fume hoods, making and diluting chemical solutions, power supply testing, testing iron core on transformer model, the use of four-arm balance, basic meter and a multimeter, the use and maintenance of microscopes and introduction to digital microscope.

This training session was using a one day training format and individual tasks that have be done by each participants in order to meet 2 x 8 total hours of training.

In addition to laboratory activities, participants were also given the chance to observe production process of teaching aid equipments in our factory.
